I use art in a natural sense. With painting, I focus on the movement and the texture of the oil paint. With photography, I look at nature raw. I find interest in exploring both mediums in more potential then they are given to me.
A recent Art Therapy graduate, my paintings are more explained as a study of the process of art, known to be therapeutic. I would often break the paintings into sections then go into each section with a different movement. I put focus into the brush strokes and movement of the paint alone. Color is added as a technique to add interest to my paintings as color excites me to notice things within the painting I might not have seen if all one tone. Although I was moving away from the traditional figurative technique, I still found figures within my paintings and chose to accentuate them as I painted, not planned from the beginning.
